GM Designer Tom Peters' Inspiration
What does today's Corvette have in common with the Hot Rods driven by Rat Fink and the other bug-eyed, hairy, drooling monsters of the '60s and '70s? The answer is Tom "Big Daddy" Peters. Check out this video to learn more about how some crazy cartoons inspired a kid to one day become Director of Exterior Design of Performance Vehicles for General Motors.
Tune in for Moore Mondays
Make your Mondays a little merrier with a new online series — Moore Mondays. Each week Museum Curator Derek Moore will share with viewers the history of a car, whether it is at the Museum or on location. The features will be a combination of Facebook Live videos (typically around 10:30am CT), and produced videos posted to YouTube and Facebook. In Episode 1, Derek shared the history of the Falconer. Episode 2 highlights the "Cormaro."
Racing Simulator Gets New Livery
In January we announced the addition of a new racing simulator. The simulator is currently located on Corvette Boulevard and offers visitors of all ages the chance to sit behind the wheel of a real C6 Corvette to pilot the car around a virtual race track.
The Corvette received a yellow wrap this week, and racing decals straight from Pratt & Miller, giving it an eye-catching new look.
Sessions on the simulator are $10 each and there are no age restrictions. Passengers are welcome, too! The purchase of the simulator is thanks to the many enthusiasts who contributed to our fall 2017 giving campaign.
