Parking

There is a parking garage on L St. and entering "636 L St NW" in Google Maps will take you to the entrance. This garage has two elevators - one that puts you out on NY Ave, and another that puts you out on L St.
This garage was $14 if you leave before 6pm, or $20 if you leave after 6pm. It said it closed at 11pm. When you go in, you get a ticket, which you then have to take to a payment machine at the pedestrian entrances, then you scan the paid ticket when you exit with your car.
If you are bringing a guest without an exhibitor badge, take the NY Ave elevator, and this will put you near the main entrance to the convention center (turn right when you exit the building, then walk a half block to get to the main entrance).
If you have an exhibitor badge, you can take the elevator to L St, cross L St, walk down L St to the middle of the convention center (under the bridge between the two sections of the building), then go in the L St entrance to the convention center. From there, you can take the escalator (to the left of the entrance) down to the hallway, then turn right and walk until you see the escalators that go down to the display hall on the right. This will save you a lot of walking vs using the main entrance to the convention center.
There are quite a few public parking garages in the area, so you may be able to find something cheaper if you are willing to walk a few blocks. However, if you want to minimize walking, I think this is about as close as you can get to our display.

Security Measures

"Patrons will be subject to search and possible hand held metal detectors. All bags, briefcases, book bags or items similar in nature will be searched as patrons enter the arena." They have refused or held bags before so pack light and don't bring extra bags, cameras etc.

COVID Safety Measures and Requirements

In accordance with Mayor Muriel Bowser and the District of Columbia, all show guests will be required to wear a mask while inside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and show proof of vaccination upon entering (including proof of the first dose for children 12 and older). More information can be found here.

Details for Show Participants

Displayed cars must be moved in Wednesday January 19 between 8:00 AM – 5:00PM (via the entrance on M Street between 7th and 9th Street), must be moved out Sunday January 30 at 6:30PM, and must remain in the Convention Center between those dates. In the event of snow or other significant emergency, we may be permitted to move cars in/out on days prior to those scheduled dates. However, the Convention Center requires us to vacate on January 30 to prepare for another event, so we will not be permitted to move out late under any circumstances.

Participants will drive their own cars within the building for move in and move out, and cars will be locked while on display. Unless there is an emergency, no one else will access or drive your car at any time. However, keys must be stored in a secure location at the convention center to permit vehicles to be accessed/moved by show management in case of an emergency when you are not present.

Strict fire regulations mandate that:

  • Cars within the building must contain less than 1/4 tank or 5 gallons of fuel (whichever is less). Fuel levels will be checked when we enter the building, so you must run down your tank before the show.
  • Cars must have a locking gas cap or have the gas cap sealed with tape to prevent tampering.
  • Car batteries must be disconnected and cable ends taped, even if a battery disconnect switch is present.
