Low Speed Double Autocross
Coronavirus Safety Measures
- You must wear a face covering over your nose, mouth, and chin whenever you are outside of your vehicle. Helmets and/or headsocks do not meet the requirements of a mask or face covering. This applies to all CCA volunteers, drivers, and course workers. No exceptions!
- You must practice social distancing at all times and remain 6+ feet away from anyone who is not part of your household. Please do not congregate at registration, timing, tech, coolers, or port-a-potty.
- Please bring your own pen, painters tape (for car number), and helmet if you have one. A limited number of rental helmets are available, but each helmet will only be used by a single person for the entire day.
- Please read the CCA Autocross Protocol, which includes additional safety measures.
General Information
Open to Corvette and non-Corvette participants of all experience levels and ages 18 and over. Only cars are allowed; no trucks, SUVs, karts, motorcycles, etc. Anyone wanting to volunteer or ride along must be 18 or older, from your same household, have a valid driver's license of their own, and must sign a liability waiver and wear a wrist band. We can no longer accomodate any spectators or minors under the age of 18 anywhere on the premises due to limited parking and lack of a safe viewing area. Truck and trailer parking is also very limited. CCA Autocross Protocol
Schedule: There is a morning session of two heats with a minimum of 4 runs each and an afternoon session of two heats with a minimum of 4 runs each. Schedule
Ammenities: There will be a porta-potty on site as well as a trash can. There is no electricity available for use by participants or spectators. There is no shade or means to escape the elements and we can no longer allow participants to set up their own canopies or tents so plan accordingly. We break for lunch and give you ample time to eat lunch and return for the afternoon session. There are only an few options nearby for lunch so you may want to bring a bag lunch.
Drivers & Tech Inspection: All drivers and passengers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. All drivers and passengers are required to sign a waiver and receive an event wristband at registration/check-in. Drivers are required to work the heat(s) opposite the heat(s) they drive in. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their car is technically prepared and a technical inspection form should be completed prior to arriving at the event. If you forget your tech form or register the day of the event, you may complete a tech form at the event. Your car number must be clearly marked on both the driver's and passenger's side of the car using decals, tape, shoe polish, etc. More Info & Tech Form
Helmets: All drivers must wear an approved helmet. The helmet must be at least DOT, however SA2010 or newer is preferred. If you do not have a helmet, you may rent one. You can add all-day helmet rental (which now includes a new headsock you may keep or toss) for $2 for members and $7 for non-members when pre-registering online (make sure you enter a quantity and both the checkbox and radial button are selected when you add the helmet addon) or onsite for $2/$7 cash.
Worker Assignments: All drivers are required to work the heat(s) opposite the heat(s) they drive in. The day of the event, the Worker Chief will assign you to a course location for the heat you are working. Worker Assignments
Volunteers Needed: To make our autocross events successful and to run smoothly, about 20 workers and participants from our club are needed for each event. If you only wish to volunteer, you do not need to register for the event. No experience is necessary and we will teach you everything you need to know. We need volunteers for Sunday morning for setup, tech inspection, registration, worker chief, grid, start box, spectator control, and cleanup at the event conclusion. Registration opens at 8:00 AM so all worker/participants involved with setup, registration, and tech inspection should arrive between 7:00 and 7:30 AM. You can sign up to volunteer for autocross events on this shared Google spreadsheet (no sign-in required) or e-mail competitionvette-club.org and specify the day and task you would like to volunteer for.
