VOLUNTEERS AND PARTICIPANTS NEEDED!
Our first CCA autocross of the year is coming up on April 23, 2017. This will be a double test & tune event on SUNDAY (with NO school on Saturday). We should get in plenty of runs.
The event as usual is open to Corvette and non-Corvette participants of all experience levels. New this year is a simplified classification system and a new registration system on our new website! Info on the new classification (to assist with registration) is here. The event flyer is here and a picture showing the nice, still new asphalt can be found above (to possibly rekindle those who endured past autocrosses with us on the old, worn out surface).
Please come out and support our club and the freshest smoothest asphalt around! For newer autocrossers limited loaner helmets will be available for rental and ride-along instruction (and course-walk assistance) will also be available upon request.
To make these events successful we need both workers and participants. You will be able to run even if you volunteer to work, so please consider helping out the club to make these events run smoothly. Here is a list of areas where worker assistance is needed:
Saturday, April 22, 2017 - Need a couple volunteers in the AM to help set up, mark and test the course and clean up any debris. Will need volunteers to arrive by 8:00AM. Should be done by noon.
Sunday, April 23, 2017 - Registration/Scoring, Front Gate, Tech Inspection, Course setup assistance, Timing System Operation, Grid/Staging, and help with clean up. Participants should arrive by 8:00AM to get through registration, tech and walk the course. Volunteers should arrive by 7:00AM.
Please contact Stephen Catlin, Director of Competition and let him know if you are able to assist by informing him which days and which positions you are available to help with. Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience in these areas, we will teach you all you need to know. Approximately 20 volunteers are needed to make this event a success.
