2019 Event Photos

On Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. the grounds of Glenview Mansion transform when more than 500 antique and classic automobiles go on display. From Packard to Ferrari, 32 car clubs are represented during this grand event while auto collectors and enthusiasts share fond memories of the classic cars of yesteryear. The show has a flea market, car sales area, and live music. Food and drink will be available for purchase. This event is open to the public and admission is free.

Pre-registration will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 13. After this date, you can register at the show. All vehicles, flea market vendors, and car sales must complete a registration form and and pay the entry fee. All fees are non-refundable.

Club Secretary, Paul Vale, is coordinating an informal gathering and has put together a few notes:

Here's a trick I learned from past years. Arrive a little early, like 10:45. Go east on Baltimore Road to Avery road. Make a left on Avery and follow it down and around to real paved parking. You'll see the paved lot if you enable satellite imaging on Google Maps. I drove my Corvette and I don't think there were any unfriendly speed bumps. The spaces are not overly wide, so you have been warned.

Why you should attend this show:
You are probably a car person and you will see classic Corvettes as well as the American, German, Japanese and other Marques they competed against in the 1950s, '60s and '70s. There will be Ferraris, Alfas, Porsches, Jaguars, Cobras and more (like Citroens, 2-stroke SAABs, Sunbeams, Allards, Abarths, etc).

This is an informal CCA "sanctioned" event. To get together with other CCA members who may be attending, I have set a very rough meetup schedule:

  • If you get there early, plan to visit the Corvette exhibit area (usually quite prominent in the middle of the exhibit field) at 11:30 to find other CCA members.
  • Plan to head to the food area around 12:30 for lunch. If you’re not eating lunch, head there anyway, because it’s near some of the exhibiting cars, and you may bump into someone you know, CCA-wise.
  • Plan to be near the stage where they usually have live music around 1:15 for a few minutes if you missed the 12:30 lunch gathering. (Live music ends at 1:30.)
  • Consider wearing a CCA t-shirt from the SPORT Chevrolet Car show if you have one, or any other CCA- or Corvette-related apparel.

Take some pictures to share.

Talk to the car owners. Ask questions. Compliment their vehicles. CAUTION: Unless you're careful you may only see three or four cars this way. Plan to break the conversation off gently after a few minutes with interjections such as, "Uh Oh, I see my parole officer coming this way. Please excuse me," or, "Please excuse me- I see the owner of the Ferrari I just missed buying at the Mecum auction and I want to congratulate her."
